dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to establish how school culture influences the management of students’ discipline in selected Boarding Secondary Schools in Central Uganda. The study aimed at achieving the following objectives: Establish the nature of School Sub cultures in Secondary School, determine the ways in which school culture does affect students’ discipline in Secondary school and establish how the school culture affects the school mode of discipline management. The study employed a cross sectional survey research case study design. Specifically a cross-sectional survey design was used to examine the relationship between school culture and the management of students’ discipline in Boarding Secondary Schools in Central Uganda. The study made the following findings: There are many sub cultures in the different Religious founded Secondary schools in central Uganda. These include: the academic sub culture, the religious sub-culture and the blend of both. These have had a number of ways through which they influence the management of students’ discipline. The study also revealed that students with a blend of both are more focused on their studies and vice versa. The study made the following conclusions: Sub cultures in schools have a significant influence on the management of students’ discipline. It also concludes that there is a variety of sub cultures in the different secondary schools in central Uganda. The study recommends that there is need to blend both the spiritual and the academic sub cultures so as to produce balanced students.en_US
