    Abstract
This study analyzed the corrosion and scaling tendency of brine from Lake Katwe. Geochemical indices such as Langelier Index, Ryznar Index, Puckurious Index, and Aggressive Index, were computed using physiochemical data including TDS, Hardness, pH, alkalinity, and conductivity. The validity of this methodology was evaluated using different steel and zinc alloys. SS316L demonstrated the highest corrosion resistance, while zinc exhibited a higher susceptibility to corrosion. Surface morphology and EDS analysis confirmed the findings. The study provides guidance for selecting appropriate materials for future salt plant rehabilitation
