    Abstract
The study investigated factors that influence under-five child survival in Southwestern Uganda. Data from the Uganda Demographic and Health Survey (UDHS) 2011 was used. The main objective of the study was to assess factors influencing child survival. Data analysis was done by using Pearson’s chi-square test and binary logistic regression model. The study established that child survival depended on birth related factors such as frequency of ANC, type of assistance during delivery, birth interval, health behavioral factors such as breast feeding, use of ITNs, and immunization including vitamin A supplement. The study, therefore, recommended increased sensitization on the frequency of feeding and immunization, improvement of food security, and government to reduce poverty levels by encouraging income-generating activities. Compulsory attending of ANC, increased use of ITNs, encouraging breastfeeding, and use of vitamin A supplement to increase child survival.
