According to Instrumentum Laboris , (no. 42, 2012), Benedict XVI, defines New Evangelization as pastoral outreach to those who no longer practice the Christian faith. This also means Church’s revitalizing or revival of spiritual and missionary vocation to suit the social and cultural changes. A Christian community affected by the strong social and cultural changes need once again to find the energy and means to ground themselves solidly in the presence of the Risen Christ, who animates them from within. My topic is about the role of New Evangelization in the Church – case study Kabango – Kinyara Catholic parish, Hoima diocese. In Kabango parish the level of understanding of New Evangelization is actually low, basically because there is no initiative put by the clergy to put forward the means of New Evangelization to spread the gospel to the people. People in Kabango are not conversant with their faith despite coming to Church and some are not active Christians besides there are those who don’t understand Christianity at all because they have not been evangelized. I thought that if I carry out research about New Evangelization in Kabango parish, these people who have lost faith will be awakened and will be active Christains and those who are ignorant about the gospel will believe in God and get converted. In my study the specific objectives were: To find out the importance of New Evangelization to the people. To discover what role the laity and religious leaders have in spreading the gospel using New Evangelization. To find out the best methods that can be used in spreading the gospel through New Evangelization To find out the problems encountered among the Christians in understanding the good news, Church doctrine and find solutions to those problems. In Chapter three various instruments were applied in data collection such as questionnaires, oral interview, observation and focus group discussion. The Date collected was analyzed and computed to bring out the reality on the ground in the research study. Finally Chapter five gives detailed discussion about the role of New Evangelization in Kabango were by many people didn’t understand that New Evangelization programs like through Radio tions, seminars, retreats and workshops can play a big role in converting people and awakening people’s faith. Therefore there is need to promote New Evangelization in Kabango parish because it can awaken people’s faith and convert the un believers as well and increase peoples’ active role in the Church.en_US
