A project report submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the award of the degree of Bachelor Science in Computer Science of Makerere Universityen_US
The main aim of this project is to evaluate a new and disciplined approach to music scheduling in radio stations by automating the music scheduling process. The project report identifies and discusses the current music scheduling system and in detail describes the process of developing and the way of operation of the automated music scheduling system. Data about music ranking and scheduling obtained from radio stations was examined and requirements for a better system generated. Presenters need to record listeners‟ requests and schedule the requested songs within the shortest possible time and without making any repetitions of the so that have already been played. Program directors should waste no time ranking songs according their popularity but should obtain the ranked and scheduled playlists directly from the system. Some of requirements of the users of the music scheduling system could be achieved using the traditional (manual) system but with a lot of effort and time wastage. The automated system solves these problems.en_US
