dc.description.abstract | At the time of writings, Uganda was the only country in Africa with an established Ministry of Gender. The country has an operational National Gender Policy to facilitate the process of mainstreaming gender concerns in the national development process. The policy outlines the strategies to be followed and the institutional framework. It is concluded that poverty eradication and gender equity can only be achieved through recognition of the fact that the two are complementary. | en_GB |
