dc.description.abstract | The current paper examined the Civil Military Corporation with all stakeholders in addressing contemporary security issues taking the case of Rwanda Defense Forces. In order to realize the above objective, the researcher sought to address a number of questions such what are the core elements of CIMIC? What is the importance of CIMIC? How can CIMIC help in addressing contemporary security issues? What are the challenges hindering RDF’s successful CIMIC in addressing contemporary security issues? As well as what are the existing strategies for promoting RDF’s CIMIC in addressing contemporary security issues? This was a qualitative study and a case study design was also used to guide the investigation as RDF served as the study's case and was carefully examined. Data was gathered through the review of secondary sources, which included visiting websites, Google sites, documentaries, and press releases and be analyzed through thematic analysis methods. The findings indicated that RDF has determined that a variety of issues are impeding CIMIC projects, crisis management. Unlike conventional war zones, peace missions are less perilous and expose their members to potentially painful experiences. There are a number of challenges affecting CIMIC including the difficulty of danger and threat, the monotony and repetition of military and civilian interactions, the military is regularly required to deploy individuals with insufficient CIMIC due to a lack of resources or ineffective screening procedures. There are a number of strategies for CIMIC in addressing contemporary security issues such as RDF has implemented a number of strategies to ensure effective CIMIC with all stakeholders to address contemporary security issues. These have included bridging the humanitarian and military perspectives, effective communication, effective planning, and effective coordination. RDF has also facilitated civil-military interaction and begun a number of new initiatives. Discussions and implications for findings are herein discussed. | en_US |
