Boda boda accidents represent a significant yet overlooked emerging public security concern in both developed and developing nations, contributing substantially to overall road traffic incidents. Despite causing injuries and fatalities, these accidents have not received the requisite attention, resulting into a worsening situation that continues to jeopardize human security. In Kira municipality (Wakiso District, Uganda), the increasing prevalence of boda boda cyclists poses notable challenges to human security due to lax enforcement of traffic laws. While boda bodas serve as a vital mode of transportation, their exponential growth has led to a surge in traffic violations and safety issues, posing substantial risks to both riders and passengers. This study deals with how enhancing traffic law enforcement bolsters human security, focusing on boda boda cyclists in Kira Municipality. The research utilized a case study research design, employing a mixed methods methodology which involved both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The methodology involved 122 respondents, and the quantitative data collected were descriptively analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) whereas the qualitative data collected was thematically analyzed. The study's findings highlight that various factors, such as the riders' characteristics (gender, age, period in the boda boda industry, education, and motorcycle ownership) and attitudes, significantly influence their behavior and overall traffic conduct in Kira municipality. Furthermore, the study underscores that the reliance on traffic law enforcement mechanisms is pivotal for deterring, apprehending, and penalizing traffic offenders. In conclusion, the study advocates for the improvement of riders' skills through continuous training, emphasizing adherence to road laws, and altering riders' behaviors by imposing fines or withholding licenses as a means to mitigate boda boda accidents in Kira municipality. However, the researcher contends that enhancing traffic law enforcement, fostering cooperation and coordination, is crucial for promoting human securityen_US
