dc.description.abstractWhile Construction projects regularly involve a variety of skills that originate from the diversity professionals, specialists and suppliers, Successful implementation of a construction project can only be achieved if good project management practices and systems are put in place and allowed to work. This report offers a brief review of construction and project management practices that the author participated as the Contractor’s Project Manager during the construction and completion of the Proposed Ndiwulira Commercial Complex as of January 2022. The report focuses on construction project management and contract administration, but also details the activities carried out during the implementation of the project. Chapter One lays out project particulars, briefly discussing the background of project, the scope, the funders, consultants and other stakeholders. It also describes the author’s involvement and participation on the project. Chapter Two discusses the construction methodologies, activities and contract administration procedures undertaken during the execution stage of the project. The different tools and techniques used in the actual construction that took place on site are discussed in this chapter right from Basement, reinforced concrete frame to finishes. Chapter Three discusses the project management knowledge used during implementation administration of this contract. The different project management knowledge areas explored in the context of the project, with particular emphasis accorded to scope, cost, quality, procurement and communication management. Chapter Four and five details the lessons learnt, challenges faced, conclusions and recommendations drawn by the author about execution of the Proposed Ndiwulira Commercial Complex at Makindye, based on the experiences drawn during his participation in this project. Additionally, the author makes recommendations on how this can be successfully implemented, going forward, basing on the lessons learnt during the internship.en_US
