dc.description.abstract It is widely recognised that East Africa is essentially an agricultural country although recently industrialization, especially in the processing sector of primary agricultural products, has received great attention. Except in certain areas of Kenya and Tanzania highlands and isolated estates of plantation crops such as tea, sisal, coffee and sugar, the bulk of East African agriculture is subsistence in character. en_GB
