| Abstract: | A system of delay-differential equations is formed for a three-age groups population for
the dynamics of HIV/AIDS epidemic. Group I is composed of children below school-going
age(infants), Group II is composed of school-going age children and Group III is composed
of sexually mature adults and capable of reproduction. The dynamics of the epidemics is
then analyzed in the third group. According to the sensitivity analysis done on the system,
it is found that the longer the incubation period the higher the HIV-prevalence in this group.
An increased positive change in social behavior leads to decrease in HIV/AIDS incidences
in Group III. |
