| Abstract: | This study focused on the development of a Decision Support Tool for manpower planning
with the aim of aiding decision-makers in the Ministry Of Education and Sports(MOES)to
deploy teachers in secondary schools in Uganda effectively.
The decision Support Tool developed during the study,uses the inference mechanism to
model decision-maker’s criteria ,policies and guidelines. The system design used decision tree analysis to implement the inference mechanism while database component was implemented using Mysql as a database management system. The user interface was implemented using html.
This Decision Support Tool enables the decision-maker to identify teachers who are due for transfer, identify schools with vacant posts in particular subjects and to accept or reject applications from teachers who apply for transfer. With this tool,the user simply inputs data on a teacher and the system will check whether the applicant can be considered for transfer, basing on the set criteria. |
