Authors: Bamwidhukire, Joseph
Keywords: Network management
System administration
Issue Date: 18-Nov-2009
Abstract: System administration of large networks or complex computer systems with many users can be very demanding and stressful. The system administrators are involved in a lot of movement while attending to the troubleshooting requests at the same time other users find it difficult to access them for attention. This project was aimed at the development of the network management system that can be used to ease the work of a system administrator in the troubleshooting functions with a major aim of providing better management of information technology resources and tasks through a unified interface. This has been achieved through the developed system and it is capable of ensuring that users can manage their workstations through a do it yourself manual or send their complex queries to the system administrator who would systematically respond to their complaints. The developed Network Troubleshooting Managment System has been tested through validation with users and found to be effective.
