| Abstract: | This Project concerns the development of a simulation model for prediction of Voter turnup in Local Election, a case study taken at the Electoral Commission Uganda.
The Electoral commission has as one of its duties and to organize and manage Elections in Uganda.
Therefore it must make sure that all the eligible voters of a particular constituency do participate in any election activity taking place.
However due to the complexity of the exercise, some people tend not to vote because of various reasons whereas some do actually participate by voting. In this report the Various factors which affect voter turnup either positively or negatively have been discussed and thereafter, organized into a causal loop diagram, (a combination of causes and effects, from which a stock and flow
diagram is developed.
The essence of developing this simulation model is to predict which percentage would turn out in a particular election given the factors listed, and thereafter consequential solutions can be sought to see that the number can be increased, and also for proper planning for that particular election. |
