| Abstract: | My studies commenced in January and ran through
May 2001, under the invitation of Professor
Michael H. Gelb of the University ofWashington,
Seattle. It was a great opportunity for me to work
with scientists from various departments. I
participated in the study of several biochemical
pathways in trypanosomes (T. brucei, T. cruzi and
Leishmania) that appear to be good targets for
development of new drugs to treat diseases caused
by these organisms (trypanosomiasis). |
