Abstract: Despite of the fact that dengue outbreaks in the tropics have been worldwide for over 200 years, it is still the most important mosquito transmitted viral disease affecting man. Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae) is an arbovirus vector responsible for yellow fever in central and south America and in west Africa. It is also the vector for dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), endemic to south-east Asia, the Pacific Islands, Africa and the Americas.
