Abstract: The purpose of the study was to establish factors relating to job performance of teachers in secondary schools in Wakiso Town Council, Wakiso District. The study was guided by three objectives namely, to establish whether (i) employee appraisal (ii) rewards (iii) availability of work equipment, respectively was related with teachers’ job performance in the said schools. The study took a cross-sectional research design, involving a sample of 110 respondents selected using the stratified method from schools in Wards A and B of Wakiso Town Council, to participate in the study by answering the designed questionnaires. Frequencies and percentages were used to represent the distribution of the respondents on the different questions. Pearson linear-correlation co-efficient (r) was used to test the level of co-relation between the variables. The study findings showed that there was a positive relationship between each of (i) employee appraisal (ii) rewards and (iii) availability of work equipment on one side and teachers’ job performance on the other side. The researcher therefore concluded that when each of (i) appraisal (ii) rewards and (iii) availability of wok equipment was positively related to enhanced, teachers’ job performance in the Town Council also improves. The researcher therefore recommended that Government through the Ministry of Education and Sports, education administrations and other stakeholders in secondary schools should ensure that teachers are always appraised, rewarded, and provided with work equipment to enhance their job performance in Wakiso Town Council, Wakiso District.
